Thanks for staying at Taigh a' Bhraoin, we very much appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you thought of your stay!

Taigh a Bhraoin is a most comfortable and welcoming cottage, with splendid views of Loch Broom and the mountains around. Time spent in the cottage is as enjoyable as any of the trips to the many interesting local attractions. Seals and porpoises can often be seen in the loch. The cottage gains from being in a quiet road on the west side of Loch Broom and away from the busy Ullapool road. It is most welcome that the start of this quiet road has just been resurfaced and gone are the potholes that previous visitors had to negotiate! The location is equally useful for exploring the coast road south or going north beyond Ullapool. The owners have thought carefully about the needs of visitors, with the kitchen equipped much better than many other cottages we have stayed in.

A very well appointed modern four bedroomed property. Double with en-suite upstairs plus a twin room and seperate wc/sink, and another double downstairs with a twin room next to it. Shared bathroom with shower for those. Kitchen very well equiped with washer and dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and oven. 6 seater table and large lounge with two settees plus two comfy armchairs. TV if you really have to, but the scenery and peace and quite allows anyone to relax and forget about the world watching the many varieties of birds feeding outside. Thers a large outside table plus chimera and barbeque, but the Scottish midges beat us on that experience.
Ample parking for two cars though the steep incline meant that it was easier to park one car on the single track road without blocking the few local cars that passed.
This is a place for those that wish to get out into the stunning Sutherland countryside, and only about 20 minutes from Ullapool; where there's a Tesco, a Petrol Station, and loads of eateries, plus the usual tourist shops.
A thoughtful 'welcome pack' had been provided but this might not always be offered so stock up on provisions on the way up at Dingwall, just in case.
Don't forget some extra toilet rolls. It IS a self catering place!!
We had a great stay and look to return again next year.

Comfortable with amazing views

The house was great and gave us everything we needed for a happy week-long stay in some breathtaking scenery. Good outside dining area, decent TV, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, amazing picture window onto the lock, good hosts. Spend the week hiking and cycling.

A wonderful house in a brilliant location

We've enjoyed exploring all over the Scottish highlands, but I'd have to say this is just the most wonderful cottage we've been in to date! It's incredibly comfortable, and really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's in a really lovely and quiet location, overlooking Loch Broom, with only a minor road at the front, so very little traffic. It's only 20 mins from Ullapool, with all of it's facilities and restaurants. And on top of all that, it's in the middle of some of the most spectacular landscape in the world. Within ~90 mins, you can be in Inverness, Achmelvich beach, Kishorn (seafood!), Applecross, Lochcarron, etc. Just wonderful.

Amazing views

The location was beautiful, you couldn't help but relax whilst staring out of the huge windows looking at the hills and loch. The purple heather on the hills was stunning. We were lucky enough to see a porpoise swim by on a couple of days, and we loved watching the birds in the garden.
We usually stay in Ullapool, but is was so much more peaceful here, and Ullapool wasn't far away for shopping and chips.
Our favourite beaches nearby were so quiet, no issues at all with social distancing!

We really enjoyed staying at Taigh a Bhraoin for a week. This lovely and comfortable house was a real haven for our two families. The view is fantastic and we even saw porpoises jumping out of the water one day, and Ullapool is definitely a delighting place to spend one's holidays. The people were very nice and we found there everything we needed (good pubs, a supermarket, a fish shop, souvenir shops, a tourist information centre and good strolls as welle as longer hikes).

We do hope we will be able to come back one day to Taigh a Bhraoin where we had such a wonderful time.

Thank you for your kindness and hospitality
